This is one of the most important transportation systems in Medellín. It covers the principal areas of the valley where Medellín is on, called “the Aburrá Valley”.Metro system is a very efficient system that can take you from the north to the south of the valley in about 40 minutes; and from the center of the city to the west extreme in about 15 minutes, passing by the most important places of the city. This modern transportation system has 25 stations located in the principal sites of the city and in the busiest neighborhoods of Medellín, plus 7 stations of the two Metro Cables which are integrated to the metro system. In addition the metro system is connected by 112 bus routers which are integrated by fare, thus expanding access to areas of general interest and leisure along the Aburrá Valley.

Conveniently located near this station is the Museum of Antioquia, where you will be able to have a pleasant time with many works of art made by National and international artists. The anchor of this museum is the donation made by Fernando Botero; that’s why you see chubby sculptures everywhere in that museum and around it in the “Plaza Botero”. That’s an excellent place to take beautiful photos and to purchase some souvenirs.

You can also find around that place famous and principal streets and avenues, like “La Playa”, “Avenida Oriental”, “El Palo”, “Ayacucho”, “Bolivar”, “Caracas”, etc. Almost the whole public transportation buses system in Medellín is met at this place, which is the very center of the city.
